Idris Elba is committed to advancing the film industry on the continent of Africa. Elba, who is of Ghanaian and Sierra Leonean descent, has plans to include a film studio in Ghana and an eco-friendly city in Sierra Leone. In a BBC interview, he urged African leaders to invest in the industry, seeing it as a powerful tool for cultural influence.

Out of the 54 countries in Africa; Nigeria aka Nollywood, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania rank at the top for film production. Each with their own niche and stories displayed, the industry has always been there grossing millions of dollars yearly.
