The Stellar Awards may be a once a year affair, but this year Central City Productions is expanding their reach with Stellar Tribute to the Holidays. The greatest night in gospel takes on the holiest night of the year.
Hosted by Jekalyn Carr, the holiday extravaganza features a blend of Christmas classics and original songs. A triple threat, this latest opportunity for Carr comes on the heels of her celebrating 10 years in ministry.
“These past 10 years have been such a blessing, and I’m incredibly grateful for all the love and support I’ve received,” she said in a statement. “It’s been my joy to share God’s message with people around the world, and I’m looking forward to what He has in store for the next chapter.”
It seems as if this holiday special is falling into her next chapter. In addition to her hosting duties, Carr will also perform a special song during holiday-themed show.
Kierra Sheard Kelly, Mali Music, Charles Jenkins, Natalie Grant, Kelontae Gavin, Evvie McKinney, Leon Timbo, Mark Kibble of Take Six and Brandon Camphor & OneWay are also all featured performers.
In addition to the Christmas carols, Gospel heavyweights also share special season remembrances, family memories and offer uplifting messages of hope and inspiration. In the trailer for the holiday special, the members of Trin-I-Tee 5:7 lament about a time where they were on tour during the Christmas season. They said CeCe Winans gifted them a sweet potato pie in their dressing room and it helped them feel less homesick. Tim Bowman Jr. and his wife, Brelyn Bowman, also offer up holiday greetings and memories of their own from their home.
You can catch all of the stories and songs during the hour-long program from now until December 29 if your cable provider is Verizon Fios or Spectrum. For air dates click here.
