The America’s Next Top Model creator opened up about her loss while appearing on an Australian morning show, Sunrise. Speaking thousands of miles away, she spoke for the first time on January 20 about the experience, admitting it’s been tough.
She explained her decision to keep the news private initially, saying, “I just didn’t want to pull a lot of attention to me. I feel like there are so many people who need that attention, so I haven’t really talked about it. But I can’t sit here and not tell the truth that, yeah, we lost our house.”
Tyra went on to describe the moment she realized her home was gone. After checking in with friends and family, she learned the fire had reached her area.
The Victoria’s Secret supermodel says she was with her boyfriend Louis Bélanger-Martin and friends when she found out. That’s when the reality of the loss hit her. “I cried,” she admitted, reflecting on the emotional moment.
Tyra has not spoken about the loss on social media. However, she shared with fans on January 20 that she “feels weird.”
