Buckle up, because F1 is about to take audiences on a high-speed thrill ride like never before. Apple Original Films has officially released the trailer for its much-anticipated racing drama F1, directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. Read more and watch the official trailer inside.
The film is set to hit theaters and IMAX worldwide via Warner Bros. Pictures, domestically on June 27, 2025, and internationally on June 25, 2025. F1 promises to deliver the kind of heart-pounding action, elite racing drama, and emotional storytelling that fans of both sports films and adrenaline-fueled blockbusters crave.
The Plot: A Comeback Story on the Fast Track
At the heart of F1 is Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a former racing phenom from the 1990s whose career was tragically cut short by a near-fatal accident. Decades later, Sonny is a journeyman racer, hopping from track to track with nothing left to prove until his past comes speeding back into his life.
Enter Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), Sonny’s former teammate-turned-struggling team owner. With his Formula 1 team on the verge of collapse, Ruben makes a desperate play: convincing Sonny to return to the sport for one final shot at glory. But Sonny won’t be the only one making headlines. He will have to share the track with Joshua Pearce (Idris), an up-and-coming rookie who’s determined to carve out his own path. As the competition heats up, Sonny and Joshua must navigate the high-stakes world of Formula 1 where your fiercest rival might just be your own teammate.
The Ultimate Racing Experience
One of the film’s biggest draws is its authenticity. F1 was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, with real Formula 1 teams and drivers in the background, adding a layer of realism to the film’s exciting race sequences. Legendary driver Lewis Hamilton is on board as a producer, making sure the film captures the intensity, precision, and drama of the sport.
The creative team behind F1 is equally stacked. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, Pitt, Plan B Entertainment, and Dawn Apollo Films, the film features a screenplay by Ehren Kruger (Top Gun: Maverick) and an original score by the legendary Hans Zimmer.
A Must-See Summer Blockbuster
With its star-studded cast, pulse-pounding action, and a story packed with redemption, rivalry, and legacy, F1 is shaping up to be one of 2025’s biggest releases. Get ready to hit the gas when F1 roars into theaters next summer.
