Atlanta, GA — In observance of Women’s Equality Day, commemorating the 104th anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote, the Women at The Table coalition will host the “Shirley Chisholm Women at the Table Empowerment Luncheon,” focusing on “Finishing The Fight in 2024.” This event will celebrate women’s empowerment and leadership, inspired by the legacy of the trailblazing Shirley Chisholm. As the first woman to run for President of the United States, Chisholm’s life and work serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of women’s voices in leadership and governance.
The luncheon will feature a keynote address by Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, a trailblazer in her own right, who will share insights on the role of women in politics and leadership today. This luncheon provides a unique opportunity to come together to celebrate Women’s Equality Day, honor Shirley Chisholm’s legacy, and continue her work of breaking barriers and creating opportunities for women at the table.
