Gospel artist, Terrian, dropped a new devotional, ‘Big God’, on the YouVersion app Wednesday. The singer-songwriter announced the launch on Instagram with a clip from the tune that inspired it, her hit single, ‘Big God.’
The 4-day devotional gives readers the opportunity to confront their beliefs about God. In it, the artist helps answer questions like, ‘Who made God? and ‘What makes God ‘big’?’ As well as, ‘What has God revealed about Himself that leads us to sing this confidently?’ and ‘Why does this truth invoke joy?’ She agreed many often shy away from asking difficult questions around God and faith. Understandably, the desire to not offend or be misunderstood keeps those with an eagerness to know more at bay for various reasons. However, she argues, “Leaning into curiosity leads us to understand who our God is and propels us toward total trust in Him.”
Terrian believes God’s “bigness” is foundational to the Christianity. She developed the plan to take participants on a journey of exploring God’s grandeur and sovereignty. The devotional is designed to both affirm believers and engage those discovering the faith.
Her candid writing style brings a relatable edge to the average devotional. Detailing snippets of her humble beginnings in one of the poorest zip codes in Memphis, the writer shared how her faith prevented her from being tainted by her reality. “I refused to look at the obstacles when it came to the big dreams I had as a young girl. I focused on what I could do. No one could tell me different. That kept me grounded in the Lord’s will for my life. Now, I’m here by the grace and kindness of God, singing songs about Jesus all over the world,” she said.

She credits her faith to lending strength in seasons where she felt cornered by hurt, loneliness, and heaviness as well. Reflecting on that time, she noted, “The enemy’s goal was to try to convince me that I was alone, and if he could convince me that I was alone, he could then lead me toward hopelessness. If he could lead me toward hopelessness, he could lead me toward handing over my faith, but he wasn’t worthy of that! I knew I had a choice to make.”
Terrain hopes the truth and scripture shared inspires readers to be confident in who God is.
“There are so many different seasons we walk in life, but despite those seasons God remains the same… and He’s a BIG God,” she says.
The Gotee Records artist has dedicated her career to making music rooted in biblical truth. Her work landed her a ‘New Artist of the Year’ 2024 Dove Awards nomination. Also, two 2024 K-Love Fan Award nominations, the first for Female Artist of the Year. The second for the Break Out Single for the song ‘Big God.’
In addition to ‘Big God,’ her collaboration with Anike for the upbeat record, ‘Matthew 5’, is also a fan favorite.
This Fall, she’ll be touring the states on The Awakening Tour along with headliners, Casting Crowns.
