Malia Obama continues to blossom into a beautiful woman right before our eyes. Showing her emerging style and professional talents, the daughter of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama dazzled on the 50th Deauville American Film Festival red carpet on September 6, and we cannot get enough.

Cameras caught Malia on the red carpet while promoting her film directing debut. (Malia’s short film, “The Heart,” has been showing at multiple film festivals, including Sundance). Pictures of the famous daughter have gone viral for several reasons.

Malia’s appearance at the French American festival shows her growing influence in the film world, but her unique style is also exciting for fans.

We stan’ for Malia Obama!

The budding director chose a playful plaid ensemble from Vivienne Westwood for her recent red carpet moment. Her outfit featured a strapless, asymmetrical top in a red and white plaid fabric. The top was draped around Malia with a sweetheart neckline to create a structured, off-the-shoulder look.

She paired her funky top with a plaid skirt in a navy blue and white plaid. The skirt complemented the edginess of the top with an opposite asymmetric silhouette. The skirt also had slight volume and two-tiered layers that led to a slit, creating a fresh, young look. Knee-high brown boots completed the posh plaid moment.

For hair and beauty, Malia wore her hair in light brown goddess braids with wavy tendrils and fresh-faced makeup.

Malia is the ‘Vivienne Westwood Queen.’

The 26-year-old spoke to the press at the event. She told Paris Match her look was “Vivienne Westwood, Queen.”

“It’s cool, she added. “I don’t know as much about fashion, but I’m happy to be wearing it.”

Malia, who received the Young Spirit Award at the festival, also felt nervous on the carpet. In a video shared on TikTok, she said, “I’m so excited. I mean, I’ve never done anything like this. So, of course, [I’m] a little bit terrified, but mostly just excited.”

Malia Obama’s evolution into a style icon is as exciting as her professional film journey. We’re here for every moment, and can’t wait to see what she does next!
