If you purchased a lottery ticket from a Murphy USA Gas Station in Sugar Land, you may be nearly $1 Billion dollars richer. That’s right – the $800 Mega Millions winning ticket was bought right here in the Houston area.

There was a $800 million dollar ticket was sold and the winning numbers 1, 2, 16, 24 and 66 with a gold mega ball of 6 and a 4X megaplier. A few other things to note: The take home for a one-time cash payout is $404.2 million.
Usually, winners select the cash prize rather than being paid annually. The annuity paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments.
There’s another big win in our area… but this one is just a million dollars that no one has claimed yet. Someone in Houston purchased a lottery ticket worth $1M and they’ve got less than a month left to claim the cash.According to officials the $1 million ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers: 24-46-49-62-66 but didn’t match the gold Mega Ball number, which was 7.
The winning ticket was purchased at the All-Season Food, located at 3411 Antoine Drive in Houston and will expire on September 15. The winner has until then to get their earnings or they can kiss the million goodbye.
Unclaimed prizes revert to the state for programs authorized by the Texas Legislature, according to the Texas Lottery Commission. In other words, the cash will be placed in programs, such as the Foundation School Fund and Fund for Veterans’ Assistance.
