GRAMMY, Dove, and Stellar Award-nominated gospel artist Bishop William Murphy III has another accolade to add to his resume: He is now officially a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.!
The fraternity’s Chi Gamma Gamma grad chapter (based in Marietta, GA) publicly welcomed the singer and longtime pastor of Atlanta’s dReam Center into the fold during its probate show on January 18. He even sang a couple of bars from his hit single “It’s Working” in his introduction to the joyful crowd.
Bishop Murphy is one of 13 new initiates in the Chi Gamma Gamma chapter, chartered in July 1988 in Marietta, GA.
Founded on November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi stands on the pillars of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift, with its motto, “Friendship is Essential to the Soul.” With his reputation as an outstanding faith leader and entertainer in the Gospel world, we are looking forward to seeing how Bishop Murphy will move forward in his new role within the Divine Nine!
